Miao from head to toe

The Miao are one of the oldest ethnic minorities in China.

A people without writing whose history can be read through the patterns of their clothes.

This collection is made up of free interpretations of Miao silhouettes, discussions and back and forth between patterns, embroideries, supports and materials “Made in China”.

This project was supported and initiated by the Galerie Les Drapiers in Liège.

The pieces were exhibited at the Le Grand Curtius museum in Liège as part of Europalia.China 2009
