“Red and gold” dress

This two-sided dress is perfectly symmetrical. Versatile, it can be worn on both sides. She combines the red and gold lamé of an upcycled Indian sari with artisanal silk from Thailand.

It is by composing this range of red fabrics that Julie was inspired to make this unique dress. Before having had the honor of reworking these superb fabrics in her studio, the designer spent years collecting and studying the fabrics and the stories they tell. This deep interest in combining textiles of all kinds is the basis of her creative process.

The magnificent red fabric adorned with golden patterns that makes up one of the two sides of this dress comes from a silk sari, a lamé woven with metallic threads.

The second side of this dress was cut in an artisanal silk from Thailand.

The cut of this rather flared dress from bottom to top is perfectly symmetrical, without darts at the chest. Its slightly scooped neckline can sometimes bare the shoulder. It can also be worn with a belt from the collection. It's a versatile dress: rather loose and airy for walking around in summer, or more dressed up by cinching the waist with a belt.

Made with great care and finesse, this unique piece, entirely handmade, required five hours of work, from researching the fabrics to the manufacturing stages.
