A reversible bomber jacket where different reused and artisanal fabrics meet in a range of black, white, gray and silver shades.
It is by composing this range of fabrics that Julie, the designer was inspired to create this unique bomber jacket. And before having had the honor of reworking these superb fabrics in her atelier, she spent years collecting and studying them to enhance the stories they tell. This deep interest in combining textiles of all kinds is at the heart of her creative process.
This unique piece reflects an authentic upcycling work approach that also promotes artisanal textile know-how and creates bridges between cultures.
The superb white cotton with black and silver hatched stripes on the pockets is an artisanal weaving called Faso dan Fani or "woven loincloth". It was made in the Gonghin district of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, by Lydie Nikiéma, an artisan weaver who makes these miracles from her family's backyard.
The lining of the jacket has been cut in wax printed cotton, the woolen sleeves are a upcycled fabric .
Unlike most bomber jackets , the cut of this model is rather fitted at the shoulders , which makes it very elegant. The chest darts have been hidden in the assembly of the slightly angled "V" bib. This jacket is fully reversible, lined in cotton and impeccably finished. It is comfortable and easy to wear, for example with everyday jeans or a beautiful skirt from the collection.
Made with great care and finesse, this unique piece, entirely handmade, required twelve hours of work and four hours of researching the fabrics for the composition of the patchwork.
