A collection of surprises:
On the front, the handcrafted silk Ikat from Thailand combined with the handcrafted Tie & Dye from Mauritania . I have assembled and quilted them to wrap you softly in this luxury duvet, with a light and structured consistency.
When you turn it over, you'll see some printed details of the " Sailor Moon " cartoon motifs. Alternating with extracts of candy pink road map motifs and sixteen-ton trucks in marshmallow gradient... It's the clash of civilizations that plays out in this creation!
Graphic composition:
The design of the ikat patchwork of handmade silks from Thailand is truly revealed when you lay the creation flat on the ground and step back enough to observe it. I hope you have the opportunity to appreciate it :)
It is first by composing the range of fabrics that I found the inspiration to imagine this unique and artistic piece.
Initially, I created the textile design by coloring patterns within patterns , using the geometry of the diamonds organized in color gradients. I assembled the fabrics, taking care to alternate the different shades in one direction, then in the other, following a very precise logic and rhythm, until I obtained a 3D visual effect in the patchwork.

Made entirely by hand in my workshop in Brussels, this unique creation took me several days of concentration: from the design of its composition, through the cut, the folds, the different assembly stages to the finishing touches.
This unique piece with exceptional fabrics authentically reflects my approach to promoting textile know-how and upcycling materials.
And before I had the honor of working with these beautiful fabrics, I spent years collecting and studying them to enhance the stories they tell. This deep interest in combining textiles from all walks of life is at the heart of my creative process.
Exceptional materials:
Thai handcrafted silk is one of the finest materials I have had the honor of working with so far.
Coming from different rural regions of Thailand where sericulture is established, it is spun, dyed and woven by hand with exceptional know-how. Its patterns were created using the ikat technique, a tie and dye made on the warp threads of the loom before the weaving work, with remarkable finesse and precision.
