Black straight pants "Thai Silk Patchwork"

Straight pants, in patchwork of handmade silks from Thailand and other vintage fabrics.

A superb high-waisted trouser, a monochrome textile composition, all in shades of black with different textures and shines .

Made up of different combined materials, it was while creating the range of fabrics that I imagined these pants, soberly chic and graphic .

A patchwork of handmade silks from Thailand whose design is revealed in the light when you take the time to observe the materials.

My creation is initially a unique textile composition. I assembled different silk diamonds and other vintage fabrics, taking care to intersperse the textures following a very precise logic and rhythm, all in symmetry, until I obtained the desired pattern.

Then, I sewed all the diamonds, with precision, directly onto the lining of the pants .

Made entirely by hand in my workshop in Brussels, this creation took me two days of concentration: from the composition drawing, through the cutting, the different assembly stages to the finishing touches.

This unique piece with exceptional fabrics authentically reflects my approach to promoting textile know-how and upcycling different materials.

Thai handcrafted silk is one of the most beautiful fabrics I have had the honor and pleasure of creating from so far.

Coming from different rural regions of Thailand where sericulture is established, it is spun, dyed and woven by hand with exceptional know-how.

And before I had the honor of working with these beautiful fabrics, I spent years collecting and studying them to enhance the stories they tell. This deep interest in combining textiles from all walks of life is at the heart of my creative process.
