This ornamental belt is a textile jewel . The meeting between a Moroccan Mdema and a Japanese Obi . It sublimates, underlines, and enhances the silhouette, while perfectly marrying the shape of the body. It ties elegantly, high or low waist, in the back or in the front, slightly offsetting the ties on the side.
A reversible accessory where the smallest vestiges of my old projects can be found: scraps of wax, pieces of apron from the 70s, Bazin Tie & Dye from Mali, vintage ribbons from Pakistan and Faso dan fani - hand-woven cotton. by hand in Burkina Faso -
The reuse of fabric scraps generated by the production of my other creations allowed me to make this new assembly.
No textile material from my workshop is thrown away, the realization of this piece is fundamentally connected to my upcycling approach.
Made with great care and love, this unique piece was entirely handmade and made in Brussels in my workshop.
