This Thai silk patchwork bomber jacket is very refined. It is made of an assembly of different wild silks from Thailand reworked with a set of quilted seams, in patchwork.
• The set was presented on the catwalk of the 3rd International Thai Silk Fashion Week where Julie Menuge had the pleasure of representing Belgium as a Brussels designer
• Made in Brussels, from one of the most beautiful fabrics to date integrated into our collections: artisanal Thai silk, woven by hand, from different rural regions of Thailand, whose patterns have been created by the ikat technique, a tie and dye performed before weaving, with exceptional finesse and precision.
• This collection gives pride of place to patchwork, and is inspired by the connections that the designer establishes between the visual and sound arts, geometry and colors, the rhythms of repeated patterns and mathematics, and above all the pleasure of creating everywhere. from a single diamond shape.

• The lining was made from black printed cotton with multicolored polka dots and the facing was recomposed from the smallest scraps of Thai silk.
It is by composing this range of fabrics that the designer was inspired to create this unique bomber jacket. And before having had the honor of reworking these superb fabrics in her studio, Julie spent years collecting and studying them to enhance the stories they tell. This deep interest in combining textiles of all kinds is at the heart of her creative process.
This unique piece with exceptional fabrics reflects an authentic upcycling (or upcycling) work approach that also promotes artisanal textile know-how and creates bridges between cultures.
Unlike most bomber jackets, the cut of this model is rather fitted at the shoulders, which makes it very elegant. The chest darts have been embedded in the assembly of the slightly inclined "V" breastplate. This jacket is fully reversible, lined in cotton and impeccably finished. It is comfortable, can be worn very easily, for example with everyday jeans or a beautiful skirt from my collection.
Made with great care and finesse, this unique piece, entirely handmade, required twelve hours of work for the cut and the research of composition with the fabrics. To this must be added all the neat and meticulous sewing work dedicated to the assembly and finishing stages which were carried out by partner teams in Brussels.
