"Red and Black" Football Shorts

These football shorts made from upcycled textile patchwork are super classy.

I created it by assembling pieces of reused fabrics from existing football shirts to give them a second life.

This unique piece was presented during a choreographed show during the Art Plus People festival in Brussels . You can see the images of this parade on my Instagram account @julie_menuge

The complete collection places great emphasis on the patchwork technique and is inspired by the world of football .

Crafted with great care and attention to detail, these shorts were entirely handmade by myself.

The striped patterns were cut from collected football shirts. I then assembled them to recompose and reconstruct the original shape of the basic football shirt.

And above all, I thought it was a good idea to combine sports materials with neon and orange lingerie mesh with plumetis.

What is the connection between the two? It's the same technology that was used to create all these textile materials in the first place, they are almost the same industrial products that need to be recycled and renewed through creative work. I dedicate myself to it every day with humor and love for the mix of genres and poetry ;)

This creation is part of my upcycling approach which, in addition to promoting artisanal textile know-how, creates bridges between cultures, here between football and fashion.
