“Little heart” dress

This two-sided dress is perfectly symmetrical. Versatile, it can be worn on both sides. She combines an artisanal indigo bazin from West Africa with an artisanal ikat silk from Thailand.

It is by composing this textile range that Julie was inspired to make this unique dress. Before having had the honor of reworking these superb fabrics in her studio, the designer spent years collecting and studying the fabrics and the stories they tell. This deep interest in combining textiles of all kinds is the basis of her creative process.

The magnificent indigo tie-dye which makes up one of the two sides of this dress is a prestigious textile, originating from West Africa: Bazin. In damask cotton, with a particular shine, it required several stages of work and different specialized know-how for its realization.

The second side of this dress has been cut in an artisanal royal silk from Thailand. A precious fabric that has also been woven and dyed by hand using a special process called ikat.

The cut of this rather flared dress from bottom to top is perfectly symmetrical, without darts at the chest. Its slightly scooped neckline can sometimes bare the shoulder. It can also be worn with a belt from the collection. It's a versatile dress: rather loose and airy for walking around in summer, or more dressed up by cinching the waist with a belt.

Made with great care and finesse, this unique piece, entirely handmade, required five hours of work, from researching the fabrics to the manufacturing stages.
