Patchwork Identities:

The patchwork of this jacket is a unique textile composition , a set of colors, textures and patterns that I created especially to take you on a journey through different materials.

Vintage patterns and handcrafted materials:

I have hunted down and combined these patterned fabrics from different origins so that they can meet and discuss together what they have most beautiful to offer you.

Combining the shine of a fabric from a vintage Obi, (a Japanese kimono belt), with a piece of printed cotton curtain from the 70s and for the sleeves, the freshness of kantha, the vintage quilted Indian cotton.

Thai handcrafted silk is One of the most beautiful fabrics in my collections. Hand-woven from different rural regions of Thailand, its patterns were created using the ikat technique, a tie-dye technique done before weaving, with exceptional finesse and precision. So that you can fully enjoy it, I quilted the patch pockets on the front of this bomber jacket myself, which gives it even more consistency and relief to the touch.

Reversible with superb finishes:

This jacket is fully reversible, meaning it's perfectly finished. To make it as comfortable as possible, I've lined it with vintage printed cottons. To give it a perfect drape and a structured look, I've framed the lining with a damask silk facing.

My artistic approach:

It was first while composing the range of fabrics that I was inspired to create this unique bomber jacket. And before having the honor of reworking these superb fabrics in my workshop, I spent years collecting and studying them to enhance the stories they tell. This deep interest in combining textiles of all kinds is at the heart of my creative process.

Made in BXL:

Made with great care and finesse , this unique piece, entirely handmade, required more than twelve hours of work for the research, the cutting, the creation of the quilting of the pockets, the textile composition, the sewing work, the assembly stages up to the finishing touches.

Handmade and upcycled textiles:

• Sleeves: Vintage Indian Khanta quilt
• Breastplate, shoulders: vintage obi, Japanese kimono belt
• Back and front: old thick cotton curtain, colorfast print
• Pockets: Quilted Thai handcrafted silk ikat
• Facing framing the lining: old curtain in floral print moiré
• Lining: Japanese floral print cotton crepe on the back, Ninja Turtle patterned bed sheets on the front, vintage floral print cotton on the sleeves.
